Ekodeck’s Composite Screening
Ekodeck Screening is a flexible and innovative composite product suited to a variety of applications. Having the look and feel of wood, but with the strength of bamboo and durability of plastic, enables builders the freedom to fit Ekodeck Screens to almost any project.
Ekodeck Screening is made from recycled plastic and non-virgin wood materials such as sawdust. These two foundation materials are added with additives, bonding agents and pigments to provide a decking product that looks and feels and looks very similar to high quality hardwood timber.
Alongside its environmentally friendly nature, Ekodeck Screening is manufactured in various grains and colours, which match that of traditional woods such as Merbau or Jarrah. It’s also fire resistant, and child friendly as it eradicates the issue of splinters.
No oiling or painting
Ekodeck is a new style of decking that looks and feels like wood, with the strength of bamboo and durability of plastic.
Rot, decay and termite resistant
Unlike timber decking, Ekodeck requires no special treatments to combat mould and termite damage. The plastic deters termites, and as Ekodeck absorbs less water than timber, it is less likely to suffer from the effects of mould and mildew.
Warp, cup and splinter resistant
Ekodeck delays the weathering process, making it less likely to splinter, cup or warp. Ekodeck is also equipped with Anti-UV technology to combat fading in sunlight.
Splinters, warped boards and popped nails are common problems associated with traditional timber decks. Ekodeck eliminates these safety hazards and is also non-toxic.
Many composite decking products still look like plastic. Ekodeck has been carefully engineered, designed and finished to look and feel like natural timber.
